3DE in Warsaw is looking for a person to the position of Hard Surface Artist to work on upcoming productions for cinematics and visual effects. The main task will be modeling hard surface models like moving vehicles, flying vehicles, props, non-organic models. 3DE pipeline is mainly based on programs like Maya, Houdini, Modo, Zbrush, Mari, Mudbox, 3d Coat, Nuke. Right person should have very good knowledge for MAYA software as a base tool.
Create accurate digital assets from the supplied reference material and/or concept artwork.
Good knowledge to adjust proper UV’s, working closely with texture artists to ensure UVs are positioned and scaled efficiently.
Ability to work very close with Animators, Riggers, Character TD's to resolve any technical issues and optimise assets for animation or simulation and cooperate with Lighting TD’s to ensure assets are optimised for eficient rendering.
Provide CG Supervisors with progress reports.
Earlier 1+ year proven experience as a Hard Surface Artist, 3d modeling role.
Good ability to work well in a team and solve asset specific issues independently.
Very good Maya polygon and subdivision surface modelling skills and the ability to apply and manage proper UV’s.
Ability to work in other programs like Modo, Houdini, Zbrush, Mudbox, Mari, 3d Coat will be big plus.
Thorough understanding of the modelling process and the ability to both interpret designs and accurately match photographic reference material.
Previous experience creating photorealistic hard surface digital models.
A thorough understanding of technical/pipeline issues and a typical VFX production environment.
Desire in leading experience and training other Artist in team.
Basic knowledge of Linux Centos and Windows7 operating systems.
