 SURFACING ARTIST

3DE is now looking for a Surfacing Artist to work on upcoming projects.The main task will be surfacing of hard surface and organic objects that is texture painting in Mari and/or Substance and developing materials in V-ray for Maya with use of those textures. Right person should have a very good knowledge of the mentioned softwares.

 responsibilities:

 

  • Create accurate texture for the assets from the supplied reference material and/or concept artwork.

  • Work closely with modelling artists to ensure UVs are positioned and scaled efficiently.

  • Work closely with lighters to make sure that the materials behave in correct manner under their in shot lighting conditions.

  • Report to VFX Supervisors with daily progress reports.

 

requirements:

 

  • ​Every industry proven experience artists in areas of Texture Art and Look Development are welcome.

  • Strong artistic skills together with passion for painting highly detailed textures and quality materials for any project in house.

  • Good ability to work well in a team and solve texture, model and lookdev specific issues independently or be able to talk with fellow artists to solve those issues together.

  • Work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Strong knowledge of Mari, Substance Designer/Painter and Vray for Maya.

  • Ability to work in other programs like Maya, Zbrush, UV layout, Arnold or Photoshop.

  • Experience or thorough understanding of surfacing and the ability to both interpret designs and accurately match photographic reference material.

  • A thorough understanding of technical/pipeline issues and a typical VFX production environment.

  • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows 7 operating systems.

  • Fluent English language and good communication skills.
